Down on the Farm Show
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, about 12 First State Mustang and Ford Club members met up on Rt 896 & Bethel Church Road in Middletown to take a short cruise to the Down on the Farm Car Show at the Locust Grove Farm. This car show helps raise money and awareness to the farms in Middletown and surrounding areas to keep them up and running. Not only were there beautiful muscle cars and trucks to look at, but there was also tractors and fire trucks. The Appoquinimink and Odessa FFA were there with farm animals, goats, chicken and bunnies, doing face painting and a 50/50 raffle to benefit the FAA. There were also bounce houses and food trucks. It didn’t matter the age of the participants or spectators, there was something for everyone.
The FSMFC members hung out under the club tent to stay cool from the hot sun. Once again, we all had a good time looking at the cars, hanging out and staying hydrated. Member George Long received an Honorable Mention Banner from show organizer Bobby Taylor. Bobby told George that he kept looking at George’s 2008 Shelby Hertz Edition Mustang and loved the car.
The show also had a Loudest Exhaust Contest, which with the luck of our club members this took place in front of our tent. It was loud, but we all survived. We did have front row seats as we watched them call the winning cars to drive up and receive their trophies.
This was a fun show that we will attend again, hopefully it won’t be as hot next year!
